I dreamt I was nimble I dreamt I was quick
Exploring a forest with a person I’ve never met– or have I?
Isn’t that a fact about dreams? That all the rendered faces are just faces that we’ve seen
The oddest of illusions, the fangorn so impervious.
What kind of reverie is this?
My guide led me to a tree a top a hill with branches like a ladder
I scaled so high but I couldn’t see far-off the woods were thick with a fog
Hazy and grey I listened closely to what my chaperone had to say
“Take them down. Write what you wish. Write what you like. If it hits them in the heart than all the better.”
I’m not so sure what that was in reference too and I’m not sure what he was alluding too, but if it's fit for me then it’s meant for all of you
(And my dreams as of late have been like menagerie and I can’t make sense of anything like last week my teeth were fucking falling out and I kept spitting them up with spats of jet black blood and I tongued the socket holes and could have sworn it was real)
I was sure it was real
It woke me up
I plunged my fingers into my mouth (to check the damages)
I was stunned to find that I was fine
And days later the reveries continue on
A chimera of sorts in which you’ve run away and won’t look back
I am left to dust, turned away.
